Inside story on why OSF ditched Haitian Hearts

PEORIA -- Here's one in a series of provocative posts by Dr. John Carroll, the physician who founded Haitian Hearts, a charity that provides heart surgery to Haitian children.

He was fired by OSF Saint Francis Medical Center after he complained about poor emergency room procedures and because Haitian Hearts became a fund-raising competitor for the Childrens Hospital at St. Francis, which wanted to construct a new building.
