League meeting on local government

PEORIA --  Here's a way to get inside information on the local governmental bodies whose decisions affect us all.  From the news release: 

The League of Women Voters of Greater Peoria will hear reports from its members who regularly attend meetings of local governmental bodies, at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15,  in the community room at Schnucks Supermarket, 4800 N. University, Peoria.

The League’s Local Government Study Group members will report on organizations such as Peoria School District 150, the Peoria Park District, the Peoria Housing Authority, the Greater Peoria Regional Airport Authority, the Peoria City/County Health Department and the Peoria Election Commission, as well as others. 

This is an opportunity for potential League members and the public to learn more about these organizations and ask questions.

An optional light breakfast can be purchased from Schnucks beginning at 8:30 a.m., and coffee will be provided.   The event is free and open to the public. -30-
