EUREKA, IL -- Two animal rights activists remain in Woodford County jail after their arrest a few weeks ago on what seems like very questionable charges.
The two are charged with possession of burglary tools, even though no burglary took place. They were reportedly arrested during a routine traffic stop while driving through Roanoke, a small town near Eureka, the county seat.
Did the officer run the license tag, find out who the two are, and target them?
The Peoria Journal Star published this story on Sept. 10, which then received criticism from a website supporting the two men.
Their lawyer,Woodford County public defender Don Pioletti, has not returned phone calls asking for more details on this case.
