Contact Elizabeth Scrafford at elizabeth.scrafford@sierraclub.org >From Appalachia to the West's Powder River Basin, the film goes beyond the rhetoric of the "war on coal" to present compelling and often heartbreaking stories about what's at stake for our economy, health, and climate. During the film, you'll hear from Deborah Graham from Salisbury, NC, one of hundreds of NC residents who've been forced to live on bottled water for years due to coal ash contamination. You'll hear from Misti from Dallas, TX, whose two children suffer from severe health problems caused by coal pollution. Both of these individuals, and many others you'll meet in the film, are fighting for their lives and their livelihood. You'll also see Sierra Club's very own Mike Scott in Montana, Mary Anne Hitt in West Virginia, and several other folks you may recognize. From the Ashes invites audiences to learn more about an industry on the edge and what it means for their lives.
