We will be hosting a Know Your Rights workshop for allies Monday, September 18th, from 4PM-6PM. This workshop will take place at the Peoria Federation of Teachers Local 780 building (733 SW Washington St, Peoria, Illinois 61602).
The workshop is designed to: (1) educate citizen allies on basic immigration knowledge; (2) inform the public about immigration enforcement programs, including at the local level; (3) empower allies to effectively assist their immigrant neighbors; (4) encourage allies to become participants in the civic process and fight for immigrant justice; and (5) invite workshop participants to become active members of your respective organizations. We provide up-to-date information on Trump’s Muslim Ban, people’s rights regarding religious freedom, continually changing immigration policies, and how to report hate crimes.
