Rally for safe schools Monday Sept. 25

PEORIA, IL -- There's a 5:30 pm rally on Monday, Sept. 25, before the Peoria District 150 School Board meeting at its Wisconsin Ave. offices.

The reason: The board will be reviewing a safe haven policy for the undocumented and others. "While this is just a first reading, it is important we show up en masse to let them know we support keeping families together," says the group No Ban No Wall. 

To make a comment to the board during the meeting,  a person must fill out a card before the meeting begins at 6:30 pm.  That's a bad policy but pales in comparison with the safe schools policy.
