PEORIA, IL -- There's a very well done story on the current newsletter of the Heart of Illinois Sierra Club about the city of Peoria's proposed purchase of a small piece of riverfront land for $200,000.
It's now underwater. Read the linked story and act!
This land is worth very little. The owners ought to give it to the city for a tax deduction, as its only value is for a park. And the clean up cost for pollution buried on the land is unknown.
Instead the city has a long term deal to buy it. A total waste of money for a city with a deficit budget!
