PEORIA, IL -- From a news release:
Nobody is Above the Law Rally in Peoria to Demand Trump Be Impeached and Removed from Office
Local activists join 500+ rallies nationwide to demand impeachment
On Tuesday, December 17th at 5:30 p.m., the night before the U.S. House of Representatives votes to impeach Donald Trump for his high crimes and misdemeanors, activists will gather at the corner of University and Main Streets as part of the nationwide “Nobody Is Above the Law” rallies.
The rally in Peoria will be one more than 500 actions occurring nationwide in every state and Washington, D.C.
The mobilization is part of a massive, grassroots effort to ensure Congress holds Donald Trump accountable for using military aid to pressure Ukraine to interfere in our 2020 elections.
Protestors will demand that the House of Representatives fulfills its constitutional duty by impeaching Donald Trump and that the Senate remove him from office for attempting to rig the 2020 elections. Congress must show that no one—including the criminal in the White House—is above the law.
Citizens will gather peacefully with signs supporting impeachment, will hear speakers and voice their support for the impeachment and removal of President Trump for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
Activists will use #NotAboveTheLaw engage communities on social media. Information about other events can be found at Impeach.org. The link to the event in Peoria is here https://www.facebook.com/events/464521837497061/.
